She was brought up in New Zealand and has only visited India occasionally in the last 9 years. She is a graduate in pharmacy and physiology from the Auckland University. During her studies she also worked as a presenter for TVNZ. Sindhura is the winner of the Pond's Femina Miss India-World 2005. She was eligible to take part in the Indian pageant because she was born in India and lived at least one year of her life here.
